The United States delared War on Spain, on April 25th, 1898, after Spain had declared War, on April 23rd, 1898. This was the begining of the Spanish American War.

We did a new Camp radio show on March 16th, in honor of all the Irish / Irish American’s who have served in the U.S. military. Mr. William A. LeBaron was the only representative, of the Spanish Government, in Mobile, Alabama, in 1898. He held the post of Vice Consul. The Consulate was located at 11 South Royal Street.

I highly recommend this book, on uniform’s, from The Spanish American War and Philippine Insurrection. The book was written by Alejandro De Quesada and illustrated by Stephen Walsh. It is part of Osprey Publication’s “Men-At-War” series. It is available on www.Amazon.com and is a must have for anyone interested in the war’s or who had any ancestor’s who served, in them.

Barack Hussein Obama, 44th President of The United States of America has been Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, for 2009. He is the third sitting U.S. President, to recieve the award. The first was Spanish American War Hero Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, for his help, in negotiating “The Treaty of Portsmouth” which ended The Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). The second sitting President to win the Nobel Peace Prize, was Thomas Woodraw Wilson, in 1919.
